The rectifying troop is here,
    Dm F C
The ones we've needed all these years

To stop the heinous wrongdoings and verify

[Verse 2]
Dm F Em C Dm F Em
Life everafter is what they're in business for,
C Dm F Em C Dm F Em
See them brandish the key to our kingdom's door.
C Dm F Em C
It's persuasive, a part of,
Dm F Em
part of you and me
C Dm F Em C Dm C Dm
But not overwhelming as they wish it to be.
     Dm F C
If noone believed in fairy tales,
        Dm F C
There's nothing they could do but fail.
    Dm F G
Yet everywhere we look someone is trying to reassure
            Bb C
Our moral benevolence as a people.

[Chorus]
Dm Bb Dm F C

But I just wonder why they're here at all.
