About Strumfy
Strumfy is the new name of vchords.com. Same songs, same community, same people behind it — with a new name, a rebuilt website and new mobile apps.
If you used vchords before, you don't need to do anything. Your account, the songs you added, your playlists and your favorites have all moved here. Old vchords.com links redirect automatically to the matching page on strumfy.com.
What Strumfy is
Strumfy is a free songbook for guitar players. You can find chords and lyrics for the songs you want to play, and play along with tools that make each chord sheet easier to use:
- Transpose a song into a key that suits your voice
- Capo suggestions, so hard chords become easy open shapes
- Auto-scroll that keeps the lyrics moving while your hands stay on the guitar
- Chord diagrams for every chord in the song
- A built-in metronome, and tabs or sargam notation where contributors have added them
- Playlists to keep your setlists and practice songs together
The chord sheets are written by players, not generated by software. Each one is checked against our song submission guide, and other players can vote on sheets, comment on them and suggest corrections.
Why we changed the name
The vchords name was chosen years ago for a small chord website. Over time it grew into a community with its own contributors, playlists and mobile apps, and we wanted a name that was easier to remember and said what the site is about: playing guitar. That name is Strumfy.
The rename also came with a full rebuild. Pages load faster, chord sheets are easier to read on a phone, and the website and apps now share one account, so your songs and playlists follow you everywhere.
What changed for vchords users
- Your account works as before. Sign in with the same Google, Apple or Facebook account or email you used on vchords.
- Your songs and playlists are here. Everything you added or saved on vchords now lives on Strumfy.
- Old links still work. Bookmarks and shared vchords.com links redirect to the same song, artist or profile on strumfy.com.
- New apps. Strumfy is available on the App Store and Google Play, and replaces the old vchords app.
Adding songs
Anyone with an account can add a song. If a song you love is missing, use Add a song and follow the song submission guide. Please only submit chords you worked out yourself or that you have the right to share.
Ads and Strumfy Pro
Strumfy is free to use. Ads help pay for hosting and development. If you would rather not see ads, Strumfy Pro removes them and adds extra features, and it directly supports the site.
Your privacy
We collect only what we need to run the site and your account. Read the Privacy Policy for the details, and the Data Deletion guide if you want to remove your account.
