Lyrics

[Intro]
| G | C | G | D7 |
| G | C | G | D7 |

[Verse 1]
G
 Pack up all your dishes
C
Make note of all good wishes
G
And say goodbye to the landlord for me
D7
That son of bitch has always bored me
G
 Throw out them L.A. papers
    C
That mouldy box of Vanilla Wafers
G
 Adios, to all this concrete
D7
Gonna get me some dirt road back streets

[Chorus]
G D7 C D
I can just get off of this L.A.
freeway
    G C
Without gettin' killed or caught
     G
I'd be down that road in a cloud of smoke
        D
To some land I ain't bought, bought,
bought

[Verse 2]
         G
And it's, here's to you,
old Skinny Dennis
C
The only one I think I will miss
G
I can hear old bass singin'
D7
Sweet and low like a gift you're bringin'
G
Play it for me one more time now
C
Got to give it all we can now
G
I believe every thing you're sayin'
D7
Just to keep on, keep on playin'

[Chorus]
G D7 C D
I can just get off of this L.A.
freeway
    G C
Without gettin' killed or caught
     G
I'd be down that road in a cloud of smoke
        D
To some land I ain't bought, bought,
bought

[Verse 3]
       G
And you put the pink card in the mailbox
C
Leave the key in that old front door lock
G
They'll find it likely as not
D7
I'm sure there's somethin' we have forgot
G
Oh, Susanna, don't you cry, baby
C
 Love's a gift that's surely handmade
G
We got somethin' to believe in
D7
  Don't you think it's time,
we're leavin'?

[Chorus]
G D7 C D
I can just get off of this L.A.
freeway
    G C
Without gettin' killed or caught
     G
I'd be down that road in a cloud of smoke
        D
To some land I ain't bought, bought,
bought
         C D
If I can just get off of this L.A.
freeway
    G C
Without gettin' killed or caught
G
Down the road in a cloud of smoke
