[Intro]
| Dm | - | G | Em |
| - | Dm | G | Am |
| Asus2 |

[Verse 1]
Am7 Fmaj7 C
I'm supposed to choose a suitor to wear the crown
G/B Am7 Fmaj7
I said I would choose as soon as I weave this
C
shroud
G/B Dm
   They don't know

[Pre-Chorus]
        G Am7
That every night
I unthread all the work I've done
Dm G Am7
  Cause I'd rather lie
Than allow them to think they've won

[Chorus]
Fmaj7 G C G/B Am7
Though I never thought that I'd resort to this
G Fmaj7 G
Just know I'll be here

[Verse 2]
      Am7 Fmaj7
But I don't know how much longer I'll last
                       C
Since we saw that storm
G/B Am7 Fmaj7
And though it was so close to our kingdom
                        C
It was far from the norm
Unless

[Pre-Chorus]
G/B Dm G Am7
Oh, could it be some kind of sign
                              Dm
That my world is all about to change?
           G Am7
Is it finally time for the challenge I arranged?

[Chorus]
Fmaj7 G C G/B Am7
Though I never thought that it would come to this
G Fmaj7 G Am Fmaj7
Just know I'll be here buying you time

[Bridge]
Dm7 G Am Fmaj7
    Oh, buying you time
Dm7
G Am7 Fmaj7
Whoever can string my husband's old bow
    C G
And shoot through twelve axes cleanly
     Am7
Will be the new king,
    Fmaj7
sit down at the throne
    C G
And rule with me as his queen

[Pre-Chorus]
Dm7 G Am
   Let the arrow fly
Once you know that your aim is true
Dm7 G Am
   'Cause I'd rather die
Than grow old without the best of you

[Chorus]
Am7 Fmaj7 C
Though I never thought that these would be the lengths we'd
G
go for love
  Am7 Fmaj7 C G
I would not have it any other way

[Interlude]
    Fmaj7 G C G/B Am7
And though I never thought that it would end like this
G Fmaj7 G
Just know, I'll be here

[Outro]
C
Waiting, waiting
Fmaj7
Waiting, waiting
Am7 G Fmaj7
Waiting, waiting
