Cadd9 Dsus4 D Dsus2
D Dsus4 G A7sus4 Cadd9 Dsus4 D
I'm tryin' to tell you somethin' 'bout my life
Dsus2 D Dsus4
May__be give
G A7sus4 Cadd9 Dsus4 D Dsus2
me insight between black and white
D Dsus4
And the best
Dadd11 C
thing you've ever done for me
          Dadd11 C
Is to help me take my life less seriously
                 G
It's only life after all,
A7sus4 Cadd9 Dsus4 D Dsus2 D Dsus4
      yeah Well

[Verse 2]
G A7sus4 Cadd9 Dsus4 D Dsus2
darkness has a hunger that's insatiable
D Dsus4
 And
G A7sus4 Cadd9 Dsus4 D
lightness has a call that's hard to hear
Dsus2 D Dsus4
       I
Dadd11 C
wrap my fear around me like a blanket
  Dadd11 C
I sailed my ship of safety 'til I sank it
                           G Cadd9 G
I'm crawling on your shores

[Pre-Chorus]
  D
I went to the doctor,
  Cadd9 G
I went to the mountains
  D
I looked to the children,
  Cadd9 G
I drank from the fountains
There's more than one answer to these questions
Pointing me in a crooked line
            Dadd11 C
And the less I seek my source for some definitive

[Chorus]
         G A7sus4 Cadd9
Closer I am to fine, yeah
D G A7sus4 Cadd9 Dsus4 D Dsus2 D
Closer I am to fine, yeah

[Verse 3]
    Dsus4 G A7sus4 Cadd9 Dsus4 D
And I went to see the doctor of philosophy
Dsus2 D Dsus4 G A7sus4 Cadd9
With a poster of Rasputin and a beard down to
    Dsus4 D Dsus2
his knee
   Dadd11 C
He never did marry or see a BGrade movie
   Dadd11
He graded my performance,
   C
he said he could see through me
            G D
I spent four years prostrate to the higher mind
G D G Cadd9 G
Got my paper and I was free

[Pre-Chorus]
  D
I went to the doctor,
  Cadd9 G
I went to the mountains
  D
I looked to the children,
  Cadd9 G
I drank from the fountains
        Dadd11 C
There's more than one answer to these questions
                     G
Pointing me in a crooked line
            Dadd11 C
And the less I seek my source for some definitive

[Chorus]
         G A7sus4 Cadd9
Closer I am to fine, yeah
D G A7sus4 Cadd9 D
Closer I am to fine, yeah

[Verse 4]
D Cadd9 D Cadd9 G A7sus4
I stopped by the bar at three A.

To
D Dsus2 D Dsus4 G A7sus4 Cadd9 Dsus2
seek so_____lace in a bottle, or possibly a friend And
       Dadd11 C
I woke up with a headache like my head against a board
      Dadd11 C
Twice as cloudy as I'd been the night before
                         G Cadd9 G
And I went in seeking clarity I

[Pre-Chorus]
     D
went to the doctor,
       Cadd9 G
I went to the mountains
         D
I looked to the children,
        Cadd9 G
I drank from the fountains
      D
We go to the doctor,
      Cadd9 G
we go to the mountains
        D
We look to the children,
         Cadd9 G
we drink from the fountain
      D
We go to the Bible,
      Cadd9 G
we go through the work out
        D
We read up on revival,
         Cadd9
we stand up for the lookout
G Dadd11 C
There's more than one answer to these questions
Pointing me in a crooked line
G Dadd11 C
And the less I seek my source for some definitive
