Dont Close Your Eyes

[Intro]
| C | D |

[Verse 1]
G C D G D
I know you loved him a long time ago
Em Am D G
And even now in my arms you still want him I know
But, Darling,
    C D G D
this time let your memories die
Em Am
  When you hold me tonight,
D G
 don't close your eyes

[Chorus]
                 C D
Don't close your eyes, let it be me
                   G Em
Don't pretend it's him in some fantasy
              Am D
Darling, just once let yesterday go
                     G D Em
And you'll find more love than you've ever known
             Am D
Just hold me tight when you love me tonight
                     C G Am G
And don't close your eyes

[Verse 2]
C D G C
     Maybe I've been a fool,
D G D
 holding on all this time
Em Am
  Lying here in your arms,
D G
 knowing he's in your mind
                       C D G D
But I keep hoping some day that you'll see the light
Em Am
  Let it be me tonight,
D G
 don't close your eyes

[Chorus]
                 C D
Don't close your eyes, let it be me
                   G Em
Don't pretend it's him in some fantasy
              Am D
Darling, just once let yesterday go
                     G D Em
And you'll find more love than you've ever known
             Am D
Just hold me tight when you love me tonight
                     C G Am
And don't close your eyes
G C D
Don't close your eyes, let it be me
                   G Em
Don't pretend it's him in some fantasy
              Am D
Darling, just once let yesterday go
                     G D Em
And you'll find more love than you've ever known
             Am D
Just hold me tight when you love me tonight
                     C G Am
And don't close your eyes

[Outro]
G Am D

And don't close your eyes
