Reach Down

[Intro]
E5 G5 E5 G5
E5 G5 E5 G5
E5 G5 E5 G5
E5 G5
E5
G5 E5
Well, I had a dream the other night

[Verse 1]
G5 E5
You were in a bar in the corner on a chair
G5 E5
Wearin' a long white leather coat
G5 E5
Purple glasses and glitter in your hair
G5 E5
  And you said, "Hey,
this is where I wanna sit
G5 E5
And buy you a drink someday"
G5 E5
Well, you were goin' to the Dog shows
G5 E5
But you kinda lost your way
G5 C5 A5
Now you said, "I got all this room

[Pre-Chorus]
     E5 C5 A5 G5 A5 G5
And no money to decorate it"
A5 G5 A5
G5 E5
So you got some local customer
        G5
Put you in touch with the man upstairs
E5 G5 C5 A5
     But he said, "Little man
           E5 C5 A5 G5 A5 G5
You got no business bein' all frustrat_ed
A5 G5 A5 G5
           You gotta rest
E5
  You gotta rest
You gotta rest"

[Chorus]
          E5 G5 E5
You gotta reach down and pick the crowd up
G5 E5 G5 E5
I wanna reach down and pick the crowd up
G5 E5 G5 E5 G5
Carry back in my hand to the promised land
A5 G5 E5
To the promised land

[Solo 1]

[Verse 2]
G5 E5
I had an angel shine my wings
G5
  She said,
                              E5
"Nothin' but the best for the golden boy"
G5 E5
And she made me promise not to tell
          G5 E5
I had her under a spell singin' golden words in a broken
voice
G5 E5
Now I caught a blessing on the wind
            G5 E5
I'm feelin' lighter than a breath from a dove
G5 E5
I've got no hands to tie behind my back
G5 E5
And I'm sparkin' like a heart attack

[Pre-Chorus]
G5 C5 A5
And now I got room to spread my wings
E5 C5 A5 G5 A5 G5
  And my messages of love
A5 G5 A5 G5 E5
            Love was my drug,
G5 E5
but that's not what I died of
G5 C5 A5
So don't you think of me
       E5 C5 A5 G5 A5 G5
Cryin' louder than some billion dollar bab_y_
A5 G5 A5 G5
           I wanna rest
E5
  I wanna rest
I wanna rest

[Chorus]
        E5 G5 E5
I wanna reach down and pick the crowd up
G5 E5 G5 E5
I wanna reach down and pick the crowd up
G5 E5 G5 E5 G5
Carry back in my hand to the promised land
A5 G5 E5
To the promised land

[Solo 2]
E5 E5
  I wanna reach down

[Chorus]
G5 E5
  And pick the crowd up
G5 E5
  I wanna reach down
G5 E5
  And pick the crowd up
G5 E5 G5
   Carry back in my hand
E5 G5
To the promised land
A5 G5 E5
To the promised land
