Underachiever

[Intro]
E
People always say be true to yourself
        B
In the ideal situation I'd be anyone else but me
A
 It's fine,
                                     B
your fragile state of mind is just a part of growing up
                                 E
You'll look back on this time and laugh
Your struggle is your art
          B
But don't struggle too much
                                       A
You've got a bleeding heart and that's sad
You're mad?
                                         B
Just call your mum and dad and have them smooth a few
things over
You're a growing lad

[Chorus]
E D A E
Nothing compares to the life of an underachiever
                              D A E
Burdened in doubt you're your very own self deceiver
                                    D A
Potential is the worst kind of spout that they'll have you
  E
believe her
And you try
        D A
And you try
       E
And you try

[Verse 1]

People always say be kind to yourself
           B
If this is really what you wanted,
                          A# A
why would you try to suffocate me?
B E
People always say have faith in yourself
     B

succeed

[Chorus]

Nothing compares to the life of an underachiever
                              D A E
Burdened in doubt you're your very own self deceiver
                                    D A
Potential is the worst kind of spout that they'll have you

believe her
And you try

And you try
        E
And you try

[Verse 2]
E
People always say look after yourself
              B
If that's the trick of the play,
                             A
why the fuck did nobody tell me?
B E
People always say don't belittle yourself
             B
If you don't kick up a fuss,
                             A# A B
who the hell's gonna set yourself free?

[Chorus]
E D A E
Nothing compares to the life of an underachiever
                              D A E
Burdened in doubt you're your very own self deceiver
                                    D A
Potential is the worst kind of spout that they'll have you
  E
believe her
And you try

And you try
        E
And you try
And you try
And you try
        D A E
And you try

They don't care
     B
They don't care
            A E
About these teenage shits with painted nails and bleached
out shitty hair
They don't care
     Bm7
They don't care
            Asus2 E
