Ninth Cloud

[Intro]
G Cadd9 G Cadd9 G
Em7

[Verse 1]
G Cadd9 G
Look at me, so damaged and destroyed,
           Cadd9 G
This worlds plans and it's ploys to take me out,
Em7 G
     I'm on a highway,
  Cadd9 G
directly to the moon,
             Cadd9 G Em7
With no plans on stopping soon I'm leaving town,

[Chorus]
     G Cadd9 G
Them Christians are talking so often of coffins
   Cadd9 G Em7
No heavens could top this moment now,
   G Cadd9 G
My foot out the window and my flask halfway full,
  Cadd9 G Em7
I may have to pull over soon,

[Verse 2]
  G Cadd9 G
I can't afford a motel but the floorboard'll work well,
     Cadd9 G Em7
I'll sleep there til' tomorrow afternoon,
     G
Then I'll get on the road again,
    Cadd9 G
At another chance at fitting in,
    Cadd9 G Em7
But fitting in to kids like me is dying,
      G Cadd9 G
And I know when I'm with you after one shot or twenty-two
      Cadd9 G Em7
And a cigarette I feel like I'm flying

[Chorus]
     G Cadd9 G
Them Christians are talking so often of coffins
   Cadd9 G Em7
No heavens could top this moment now
     G
I've searched and I’ve found,
       Cadd9 G
to get to that ninth cloud,
         Cadd9 G Em7
You must trek through some dark and troubled ground

[Bridge]
   G Cadd9 G
So may we all, just once or twice,
     Cadd9 G Dsus4 D
Once in this life, just look around
       G
'Cause usually I'm a wreck,
        Cadd9 G
But the hard times were just a step,
   Cadd9 G Em7
To get to where I am on this ninth cloud

[Solo]
G Cadd9 G Cadd9 G

[Verse 3]
Em7 G Cadd9 G
And we're screaming 'Feeling Good Again' just past 304 a.
m.
    Cadd9 G Em7
I'm talking like the sun'll never rise
        G
But the sun'll crest the trees,
               Cadd9 G
and bring this devil to his knees
      Cadd9 G Em7
As it outlines the silver in these skies

[Chorus]
     G Cadd9 G
Them Christians are talking so often of coffins
   Cadd9 G Em7
No heavens could top this moment now
     G
I've searched and I've found,
       Cadd9 G
to get to that ninth cloud,
         Cadd9 G Em7
You must trek through some dark and troubled ground

[Bridge]
   G Cadd9 G Cadd9 G
So may we all, just once or twice, once in this life,
           Dsus4 D
just look around
       G
'Cause usually I'm a wreck,
        Cadd9 G
But the hard times were just a step,
   Cadd9 G Em7
To get to where I am on this ninth cloud

[Solo 2]
G Cadd9 G Cadd9 G Em7

[Outro]
G Cadd9 G
Look at me, so damaged and destroyed,
           Cadd9 G
This worlds plans and it's ploys to take me out,
Em7 G
     I'm on a highway,
  Cadd9 G
directly to the moon,
             Cadd9 G Em7
With no plans on stopping soon I'm leaving town,
